Music is a continuously integral part of my life. I am a percussionist and have performed with various educational and professional ensembles. I am experienced in all areas of percussion performance, from chamber ensembles to bands to symphony orchestras.
I began taking private lessons in grade school where I was educated in various areas of percussion performance. I continued to be active in musical ensembles until graduation in 2001. Slowly and strangely, a desire to pursue music was cultivated within me over the years. Through most of high school I would never had imagined that I would decide to pursue a degree in music, though God had different plans for me which I would begin to find out later. Through several enlightenments, my goals have shifted: from computer engineering with a minor in music, to a double major between computer science and music performance, to the consideration of solely a major in music. I was discontent to throw the instrument in the closet after high school as many do. I wanted to continue to study music and expand my repertoire.
I currently devote time daily to practice toward that end and spend time regularly performing in local ensembles. Music is a grand journey for me, which has given me a great appreciation and desire to know better this beautiful and undying aspect of God's creation.
